SpongeBob & The Hi-Seas to Perform Benefit Concert to Help Young Cancer Patient

Safari Sam's to host benefit concert on Oct. 7, 2007 featuring a performance by Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob SquarePants and his band, SpongeBob & The Hi-Seas

Hollywood, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire) October 1, 2007 -- Top musical talent from around Los Angeles (including a rare appearance by SpongeBob & The Hi-Seas) will perform at venerable Hollywood club Safari Sam's on Sunday, October 7 for an all-ages show to benefit 21-month-old cancer patient Izabel Vega and her parents, Pablo Vega and Barbara Konwinski of Montevideo, Minnesota.

Izabel has recently been diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma/PNET, a rare cancer that affects bone and soft tissue. All admission proceeds will go directly to Izabel and her family to help get them through this difficult time. A "donation jar" will also be circulated inside Safari Sam's for further contributions and information for making donations directly into a family fund will be announced. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the show begins at 4:30 p.m. for the kids -- and the kids at heart -- with a special performance by SpongeBob & the Hi-Seas, an all-star group of musicians featuring Tom Kenny (voice of SpongeBob SquarePants) and renowned producer Andy Paley (Brian Wilson, Madonna, Ramones). Their set will highlight some of the masterful pop songs from their critically acclaimed Nick Records album The Best Day Ever.

Admission is $10.00 for adults (children 14 years and younger get in free). DJ Cuz'n Roy will spin songs throughout the evening and distinguished audience warm-up "artist" Todd Carlin will emcee. The night's events will include, raffles, special guests and a collection of L.A.'s finest independent bands contributing their talent at these scheduled times:
