Expat Women Website Attracts 12,000 Visitors A Month

Since its launch six months ago, expatriate women have been flocking to the new website, ExpatWomen.com, in search of what they need most in a new country: useful information and friendship. Through primarily grassroots word-of-mouth campaigns, the new face of expat women online already attracts an amazing 12,000 visitors a month – a testimony to the yearning that women have to tap into networks that will help them to live successful lives abroad.

Australia (Billboard Publicity Wire / PRWEB) July 18, 2007 -- Since its launch six months ago, expatriate women have been flocking to the new website, ExpatWomen.com (www.expatwomen.com), in search of what they need most in a new country: useful information and friendship. Through primarily grassroots word-of-mouth campaigns, the new face of expat women online already attracts an amazing 12,000 visitors a month – a testimony to the yearning that women have to tap into networks that will help them to live successful lives abroad.

For it is sometimes forgotten that when expats embark on what may be seen as exciting and privileged assignments abroad, they are typically sacrificing all of their support systems at home – such as extended family, friends, babysitters, medical specialists, counselors, business contacts, sports teams, hobby clubs – literally everyone that they would normally turn to for assistance. Going abroad necessitates the need to set up all of these critical support networks again.

I love the idea of a site where women can come to ask questions and find support for such a unique experience. I really wish I had had such a resource when I moved abroad.
With the help of the internet, savvy outbound expats are now starting to do more homework before they leave home, rather than relying on their employer or relocation service provider to fill them in upon arrival abroad. Robin Pascoe, the self-proclaimed Expat Expert, remarks: “In the old days, those networks would primarily have been ‘bricks and mortar’, that is, physical location of clubs offering gyms or social events. But now, the Internet has made possible virtual support networks that are invaluable not only post-arrival, but pre-departure as well.”

ExpatWomen.com offers a single location to find resources for almost every country in the world. The free, comprehensive site is designed to help all women living outside of their home country - both first-timers and seasoned expatriates. It showcases resources: for 194 countries; 170 volunteer mentors in over 55 countries; 275 self-submitted expat women blogs; plus articles dedicated to students, travelers, volunteers, partners, mothers, professionals and free spirits.

Rupal Dalal, an American moving to Mexico exclaims, "I just stumbled across this website and it is the answer to my prayers. I am about to embark on my first expat experience and have been looking for some words of wisdom and insight into other people's experiences. The site is a lifeline during this transition period."

Monique, an expat Mentor on the site for London, England, agrees: “I love the idea of a site where women can come to ask questions and find support for such a unique experience. I really wish I had had such a resource when I moved abroad.”

ExpatWomen.com is proudly sponsored by Goodhealth Worldwide, Trafimar Relocations and HSBC Offshore. Additional sponsors and venture capitalists are now being sought by the founders, Andrea Martins and Jill Lengré, to transform the site into a major expatriate web player.

ExpatWomen.com (www.expatwomen.com) was created by two friends, Andrea Martins and Jill Lengré. Their dream of connecting Expatriate Women worldwide is a result of their combined twenty years of experience living overseas. ExpatWomen.com’s mission is to help women succeed overseas by providing a first-stop website to share stories, network globally, develop personally and find the best resources. Their vision is to become the #1 website for Expatriate Women worldwide.
Robin Pascoe, a former Expatriate Women herself, travels the globe promoting the five books she has authored on global living. Robin can be found at her website www.ExpatExpert.com.
