Sadiiya Rock set to close out Brooklyn Fashion Weekend's Fifth Season

New York, NY (Billboard Publicity Wire) March 23, 2008 -- Brooklyn Fashion Week is back again for its fifth season to present "Brooklyn Underground Fashion Rocks!" an exciting weekend of underground, emerging fashion designers from the stylish Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn on March 21 - 23, 2008. This powerful three-day mix will attract trendsetters and Manhattanites in honor of their energetic runway shows including cutting edge artwork from local graffiti and pop artists from Sound of Art (www.soundofart.com), and live performances by emerging indie-musicians. All events will take place at the new Northside Piers, first of three gloriously appointed condominiums anchored on Williamsburg's revitalized waterfront in Brooklyn (4 North 5th Street at Kent Avenue; www.northsidepiers.com).

Sadiiya Rock (www.myspace.com/sadiiyarock) will take the stage on Sunday March 23rd at 5pm. The Brooklyn Native will perform her new debut hit single "Ooh La La." The music video will be shot in Brooklyn in April. Issy Sanchez of Elite Music Group is handling radio promotion. This is Rock's second time performing for the event. When asked to perform Sadiiya responded, "There is no denying the marriage between music and fashion. Brooklyn is on the threshold of becoming the next Mecca for Fashion and Music. JayZ and Lil' Kim have been pioneers at merging the two genres...and I'm honored to be in good company."

The 29-story glass building boasts unmatched city and river views and offers discerning buyers the best in finishes, amenities and services. The180-unit tower offers one-, two-, and three-bedroom condominium residences and townhomes. Designed by FXFowle Architects, Northside Piers is a development of Toll Brothers City Living, RD Management and L&M Equity Participants, Ltd. Occupancy of One Northside Piers will begin this spring, and the complex's second tower is now under construction.

ABOUT BROOKLYN FASHION WEEK
BK Fashion Week made its critically acclaimed debut May 2006 at the Tobacco Warehouse at Empire Fulton Ferry State Park, a 19th century landmark on the banks of the Hudson River. The event was created by the non- profit Brooklyn Style Foundation, which was founded as an incubator for emerging design.

ABOUT THE BK STYLE FOUNDATION
Rick Davy and Cybele Sandy created Brooklyn Style Foundation in late 2004. Realizing the dearth of opportunity for designers and the difficulty in breaking into the business, Sandy and Davy started a non-profit to champion design in Brooklyn and to pioneer a professional arena for design in the borough, comparable to Manhattan's Seventh on Sixth. The Brooklyn Style Foundation's mission is to act as an incubator for emerging fashion designers, through the provision of in-house line consulting and financing as well as manufacturing and marketing. The Foundation also intends to be of service to the wider Brooklyn community, championing self- esteem/ self image charities and by developing programs for at- risk youth.
