Indiewoood Goes on a Run

MY RUN is the incredible true story of a middle-aged businessman who slogged through 75 marathons in 75 days to highlight the needs of single parent families.

Los Angeles, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire) May 3, 2008 -- Indiewood Pictures, Inc., in association with My Run Film LLC, is pleased to announce the upcoming release of its feature-length documentary MY RUN, the story of Terry Hitchcock's mega-marathon from Minneapolis to Atlanta and the life experience that prompted him to take on this amazing challenge. The film is being produced and directed by Tim VandeSteeg, co-produced by Chung Yang and Steve Abdo, and written by Kim Pederson. Steve Horner will score the film, David Frank is editing, and Matt Ehling is the Director of Photography. Release is scheduled for the end of 2008.

MY RUN is the true story of one man's passion and determination to change the world. At the age of 57, Terry Hitchcock had finally come to terms with losing his wife to breast cancer and had finally, after a long hard struggle, mastered the art of raising three children on his own. Most people would consider that more than enough for anyone to accomplish. But not Terry. After succeeding in his own "marathon of life," he felt the need to do something for other single parents. To be specific, he decided to run 75 consecutive marathons in 75 consecutive days. Why? Like his hero Terry Fox, Terry Hitchcock ran to bring attention to a problem that needs fixing. Terry Fox ran for cancer victims. Terry Hitchcock ran for single parent families. He ran in spite of freezing rain and unbearable heat, in spite of the aches and pains and cramps that wracked his no-longer-young body, in spite of uncharitable people who made fun of him and even tried to run him off the road at times, in spite of losing all of his road crew but one not halfway into the journey, and in spite of bone fractures and heart problems. No matter. He just kept running--each day, every day--not stopping until he broke the finish line tape in Atlanta.

Tim VandeSteeg is CEO of Indiewood Pictures. Tim got noticed initially when he secured over 50 corporate sponsors (including SUBWAY Restaurants, LifeTime Fitness and Sun Country Airlines) to finance his first feature, Mulligan. Recently, he completed the award-winning love story Fall Into Me and he is now developing, with Destiny Pictures producer Mark Castaldo, the feature film version of the Terry Hitchcock story, titled Pushing Life. Tim sees My Run as a touching and inspiring depiction of grief, tragedy, strength, love, and family: "This is a film about an ordinary person accomplishing extraordinary things. It is a story that everyone should see and everyone can learn from."
